The Early Settlement of Argentina
Settlement in Argentina began in 1516 with the first European Juan Diaz de Solis and his men. The indigenous people of Argentina did not accept them; which resulted in the Europeans being killed, and some disappearing. The few that had survived returned back to Spain. Spain was able to establish a permanent colony on land in Northern Argentina, which is now Buenos Aires in 1850. Once the Spanish was able to further the exploration of land in Argentina they were able to establish the Vice Royalty of Rio de la Plata and made Buenos Aires a very popular port. Independence of Buenos Aires was formally declared on July 9, 1816 from Spain.
With the Independence of Buenos Aires, two forces combined to create the modern Argentina nation in the late 19th century; Agriculture and Economy. With Argentina rising it caused the new immigrants to push out most of the natives out of Argentina. Argentina now had a population comprised of mostly European immigrants. With the help of Germans who established farm settlement, the British built railroads to help transport the cattle production and the Japanese helped with investment of business. From 1880-1930 Argentina became one of the worlds wealthiest nations based on agriculture and foreign investment.

Population Pyramids
Looking at these two population pyramids of Argentina, one thing that stands out greatly is the fact that life expectancy seems to be longer for both men and women. In 1950 both men and women were equal as far as to what the population is made of. Fast forward 60 years, life expectancy has grown, and men and women are still making up the population equally.
